Derrick Clark began Martial Arts training more than 19 years ago. He is
a certified fifth degree black belt in Kempo Karate. At the age of 12 he
became one of the youngest black belt instructors in the Northeast. In
addition to being a qualified instructor, he ran a weekly television
series demonstrating various self-defense techniques. Derrick also
directs many Karate tournaments and seminars throughout the year and
gives lectures and demonstrations in colleges and universities. He is
actively involved in Health Clubs, Recreation Departments and Police
Departments. Despite his busy schedule, he earned a B.S. degree in
Business Administration. Derrick has also appeared on TV talk shows and
top rated radio programs.
Having already taught over 500 elementary school students in over 40
schools and having publish a monthly newsletter that was circulated in
most of those schools, he opened a Karate studio in Newton, MA to meet
the very high demand for his teaching. Derrick is the founder of the
children's S.A.F.E. Program (Stopping Attacks Fast and Effectively.)
One of Derrick's goals is to reach out to people in businesses, and
organizations as well as Colleges and Universities. To give them the
tools needed to defend themselves, he conducts on-site workshops in
health clubs and places of business, as well as in colleges.. He teaches
simple and practical techniques that are effective in stopping an
attacker. Our staff ensures that all participants receive the maximum

All of the instructors at Clark's Self Defense are dedicated to
providing the highest quality of self defense and life protection skills
to responsible citizens. For the maximum safety of our students, all
instructors are fully insured and certified in C.P.R. and first aid.
